SiGMA welcomes a record breaking 12,500 through its doors

Expo floor 2.jpg

SiGMA welcomed a record number of attendees through its doors. 12,500 delegates, speakers and sponsors converged for the SiGMA 2018 Summit, breaking previously held attendance records and setting the standard for future events. Held on the 28th to 30th of November, the event saw intense interest from both local and global quarters, bringing a truly worldwide perspective to proceedings.

The Summit was kicked off by an elegant Awards evening, which saw illustrious industry leaders rewarded for their contribution to the development and growth of the industry, with a plethora of awards handed out on the evening.

The three-day-affair saw a wide range of topics discussed at a high level during the six conferences and workshops, with a number of prominent speakers taking the stage. From the interplay of blockchain with iGaming to a conference dedicated to the regulatory changes in iGaming law – delegates were treated to quality debate on some of the most pressing issues affecting the sphere.

The workshops proved equally successful, with each room packed to the rafters for a series of talks covering the emerging LatAm markets to the always relevant issue of the quandaries faced by women working within the iGaming industry.

Notable denizens of the industry included individuals such as, John Kamara, an expert in the emerging African markets, Heathcliff Farrugia, CEO at the Malta Gaming Authority, AI guru, Angelo Dalli, Brock Pierce, an Advisor on Open Data Exchange and the Honourable Prime Minister of Malta, Joseph Muscat.

The event also saw a number of battles pitched and won – Quizando took home the title at the ICO Battle, whilst Tomobox stunned with their start-up pitch during the fiercely fought SiGMA Pitch.

The Summit also provided a full complement of networking opportunities for delegates. A packed expo floor aside, attendees weren’t short on wining and dining opportunities throughout the Summit. A number of iGathering dinners, a Crypto Cruise and a decadent Closing Night provided ample opportunity to mingle in a relaxed yet refined setting.

See you all next year!

GiG Games signs its first contract with external games aggregator

Gaming Innovation Group Inc. (GiG) has signed an agreement with casino games aggregator Join Games. Join Games will act as a reseller for GiG Games, initially in Italy and Latin America.

Join Games will take all games from GiG Games and plans to release the first game on its platform in Q1 2019.

Join Games is a very strong aggregator in the Italian and in the Latin American markets with clients such as Microgame, Scommesseitalia and Pixelo in Italy, Wplay and Mijugada in Latin America. Colombia was the first market in Latin America to be regulated where Join Games cover around 95% of the regulated market.

Magnus Kolaas, CEO Join Games commented: “Join Games is proud to be the first external partner for GiG Games. It clearly shows our strategy to work in close partnership with all our operators is the right way to go.”

Luigi Spina, Managing Director at Join Games Malta Ltd commented: “We’re very excited to add GiG Games to our portfolio of games. There are not many game providers in the market which have the ability to enter the regulated markets both in Italy and in Colombia at the same time. From trying their games which are in development, I’m certain local players will love their games”.

Mathias Larsson, Managing Director at GiG Games, says: “We are very happy to announce our first signing with an external partner at such an early stage with GiG Games. This clearly shows the strength of GiG Games as a part of the GiG ecosystem”.

“GiG Games’ sales strategy is to work with aggregators (resellers) in markets where GiG don’t have a direct presence. Join Games is the perfect partner for us in Italy and Latin America due to their close connections with operators.”

Gaming Innovation Group launches GiG Comply and signs with Mr Green as its first customer

Gaming Innovation Group Inc. (GiG) has signed an agreement with Mr Green, one of the brands of MRG Group (

MRG), for the provision of its newly launched, innovative B2B marketing compliance technology, GiG Comply.

This monitoring service is designed in response to operators’ needs to further strengthen control over third party advertising and brand protection. GiG Comply drives responsible gaming by providing improved visibility of where and how brands are being advertised. The service helps protect them from promotion on websites which are not brand-safe. It also protects from misleading advertising in their name and helps them to adhere to complex advertising standards in their regulated markets.

This scalable tool is based on cutting-edge technology, putting flexibility in the hands of the operators who can set up their own criteria and checklist parameters to scan and check affiliate websites or any requested domains on a daily basis.  This will allow them to scan for anything they need, such as ensuring responsible gaming measures are visible on relevant pages or that terms and conditions are correct and up-to-date.

Jesper Kärrbrink, CEO Mr Green Ltd comments; “We always look for ways to improve our Green Gaming thinking. By using this technology, we can ensure traffic coming to our brand does so in a compliant and green way.”

Richard Brown, Chief Digital Officer at GiG commented: “We are immensely proud to expand our partnership with Mr Green to include GiG Comply services. Mr Green is already well-known in the market for having sustainability at the heart of its business and, as the first customer to sign up with GiG Comply, Mr Green is now also an early leader in using new technology to help strengthen its marketing compliance.”

Affiliate event series set to return to Europe

The Affiliate Grand Slam series is all about relationship-building in the best possible environment for deal-making handshakes. Great relationships are at the very centre of the affiliate sphere in iGaming.

It is nigh on impossible to be successful in affiliation without maintaining healthy bonds with key collaborators, and forging new ones. This is especially true in iGaming, a very interdependent scene in most respects.

The Affiliate Grand Slam is an outstanding event on the iGaming calendar that brings together the best of affiliates with a select number of potential collaborators that are keen to establish or cement a great working relationship.

The next edition of Affiliate Grand Slam will take place in Kiev, Ukraine. This regional, cultural, and business centre was chosen because its ideal location – the upcoming Affiliate Grand Slam will be all about accessing the immense potential of the European and CIS markets, especially as the two converge. The fundamental formula that defined previous editions of the Affiliate Grand Slam remains: 200 elite affiliates will join a select grouping of operators, capped at six.

The event has mastered the art of introducing outstanding content, but also maxes out on the more leisurely front. There is no better setting for the creation and upkeep of crucial relationships in this sphere.

TonyBet, V.Partners, Yobetit, Multilotto and Buffalo Partners have been confirmed as hosts of this marquee event, which is also sponsored by HasTraffic.
